1. La Serenata Gelato – an opera for the taste buds
Walk from the B2 Hotel: approx. 20 minutes, by bike: 7 minutes
La Serenata is not just a gelateria – it is a love letter to the Italian art of ice cream making. Here, gelato is composed like an aria: with passion, precision and a touch of drama. The flavours change seasonally, are organic and often surprising (saffron? Yes, indeed!). Once you've tried the pistachio gelato, you'll understand why some customers come back every day.
2. Rosso Arancio – The Sicilian original
Walking distance from the B2 Hotel: approx. 25 minutes, 12 minutes by bike
Rosso Arancio brings the Sicilian way of life directly to Zurich's Europaallee. Here you'll find not only gelato, but also granita, cannoli and espresso just like in Palermo. The ingredients? Fresh, local, sometimes imported directly from Italy. Our tip: Mandorla (almond) with a dash of espresso – divine.
3. Gelati am See – Classic with a lake breeze
Walking distance from the B2 Hotel: approx. 15 minutes, 5 minutes by bike
Located directly on Lake Zurich, this gelateria is a must-visit for anyone who loves ice cream with a view. The flavours are classic but high-quality – vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, but also mango, yoghurt and hazelnut. Ideal for a walk along the lakeside or as a sweet treat after a swim at Seebad Enge.
4. Gelateria di Berna – the place to be among gelaterias
Walking distance from the B2 Hotel: approx. 30–40 minutes depending on location, or 10–15 minutes by bike
Gelateria di Berna has long been more than just an gelateria – it is a phenomenon. What once began as an insider tip is now an institution with several locations in Zurich, including in districts 3 and 4 and on Langstrasse. The queues are legendary, the flavours creative and uncompromisingly good. Whether vegan basil and lemon sorbet, dark chocolate with chilli or the creamiest coconut sorbet in town – here, ice cream becomes an art form.
5. Gelatissimo Bullingerplatz – tradition meets trend
Walking distance from the B2 Hotel: approx. 35 minutes or 12 minutes by bike
Gelatissimo is an institution. For years, the team at Bullingerplatz has been delighting customers with authentic Italian gelato, which is produced fresh on site every day. The selection is huge and the quality consistently high. Highly recommended: Fior di Latte, Amarena cherry and the legendary tiramisu gelato.
Conclusion: Zurich is a gelato city
Whether classic Italian, vegan-experimental or with a lake view – Zurich's gelaterias are as diverse as their clientele. And from the B2 Hotel, it's never far to the nearest ice cream treat. Our tip: try a new flavour every day. Life is too short for bad gelato.
